Type of Article
1. Currently we give preference to Feature Articles for
online publication. However, submissions in any other format
will be considered. Any medical or medically related topic
will be considered. Of course we expect authors to follow a
general style with a minimum of medical jargon. Please
remember that the readers of your articles will not only be
doctors but a much wider audience.

Content of Article
2. Whilst we encourage authors to adhere to
their own style, we would ask you to avoid lengthy
sentences. Plain English is our preferred choice.
Please also read paragraphs under 'Legal Position'
below for further details. |

3.
Feature Articles should not contain any clinical
photographs, charts, tables, or drawings of any nature.
4. Any
comments made should be based on generally established
scientific and/or medical data with reasonably logical
justifications for any view points you may express.
5.
References are not generally required, but you may cite up
to two references at the end of your article in italics,
or next to the relevant statement in the text (within
brackets & in italics like this).
6. The
number of words in your article should not exceed 1500
and must be sent electronically to
[email protected]
7. No
medical details of a patient/person should be mentioned in a
way that it would lead to identification of the individual
concerned. Always obtain the full informed consent of the
individual concerned whenever necessary,and that will be the
responsibility of submitting authors.
8. Any
material in an article which the
Medical
Journals
considers to be offensive, untrue, libellous, or in breach
of medical confidentiality will not be published.

Author Details
9. We will consider articles from doctors,
dentists,medical researchers, nurses,pharmacists,
psychologists, physiotherapists, occupational
therapists, medical laboratory technicians,
radiographers and other allied health professionals.
We will also consider submissions from solicitors or
barristers with an interest in clinical negligence
and/or other medico-legal issues. |

10. All
authors must send the following details with their
electronically submitted articles: -

Full
Name with appropriate professional titles (please
underline your surname).
-
All
professional qualifications including postgraduate
diplomas & degrees.
-
Current/last position and employer's/business
address--if retired or unemployed please say so.
-
Registration details
with the appropriate professional body - for an example,
UK doctors should send their registration number with
the General Medical Council.

Personal address, contact telephone number, and e-mail
address so that
Medical
Journals
could contact you if necessary; these personal details
will not be published online with your article or
forwarded to a third party without your consent.

All
authors must give an undertaking to
Medical
Journals that
the material that they submit has not been previously
published elsewhere either in electronic or paper
format. If your original submission had been rejected by
another publisher, that does not matter - you can still
send it to us for our fresh consideration.

You
may also submit a digital photograph of yourself, which
we may publish along with your article.
Legal Position
11.
Medical
Journals will
NOT indemnify the authors of articles which are
published on this journal. So any matter arising out of or
as a result of a particular article, will be referred to the
author concerned and so he/she may deal with the matter in
an appropriate way.
12.
Medical Journals
reserves all rights as to the frequency of publishing
articles from any author. Whilst respecting the principle of
freedom ofexpression ,we will not be
publishing any offensive, libellous, misleading statements
or any other material which we consider not suitable for
public dissemination.
13. Given
this is a free service,
Medical
Journals will not
be making any payment to authors who submit articles whether
or not they are published on this site. There is no
peer-review of material submitted for publication, thus the
entire responsibility will lie with the author/s.

Medical Journals
will usually take a decision as to whether an article should
be published within four(4) weeks of submission. In the
event that we anticipate a delay, we will let you know.
Whilst every effort will be made to publish an article as
soon as possible, the timing of publication will be at the
sole discretion of
Medical Journals.
15.
Medical Journals
will not accept any liability for loss or damage arising as
a result of accessing this site or placing reliance upon any
of its content. Nor would we accept liability for any
material lost or damaged during the process of electronic
transfer.
16. The
copyright of all material published on this site will be
that of
Medical
Journals except
the content of an article/paper published which will be of
the respective author.
